I found a couple of tracks I didn't know I had. I added two to The Rondos page, another demo I found called "Lotions And Potions" and a live version of a song called "TBird Girl". I also added another song to the Loosies page called "Broken". Good stuff. Check it out!

I finally added an old Florida band I had called The Slurps to the Punk Archives. Been meaning to add it for awhile, but the files were screwy. Anyway, it's a fun one. Check it out...
I stumbled on an old recording the other day. Kind of a catchy little country tune. Couldn't help but add it to the collection. It's called "That Old Ford Pickup Truck". It's about my beloved old truck pictured above. Wish I still had her... You can listen to it on the Loosies page. I'm happy to post a new page to this site for my new band here in Dublin, THE LECHERS We've been playing out a lot and getting a good response. Give it a listen... I've been living in Darlin' Dublin for a little over a year now. I've been itching to play music again, and after repeatedly casting out my "wanna jam?" net, I think I may have finally got something good happening. I've been holding off on posting this so that I don't jinx it, but after several rehearsals and a slew of shows already booked, I think it's safe to say that I have a new band! Whenever I move to a new town, I always start by forming a punk band, and Dublin is no different. I was lucky enough to hook up with some amazing musicians and so far it sounds deadly. The people here are amazing, and the musicians here bring a really cool style to the table. I'm really excited about this band and will post what I can when I can as it comes to fruition. Stay tuned.... It's been a while since I've written anything new. NYC was a kick to the gut, musically. I arrived with my dream album in tow, only to find that the only way to play live was to use session players at $100-200 a gig. I had 12 people on my last album. Do the math...
I created a mental musical block in my head. I didn't touch my guitar for a long time. I found solace playing drums in KiL, my punk band in NYC. But I finally got the old muse back and popped out a song. It was that same old feeling, trying desperately to write the lyrics flowing through my head, usually about 2 lines behind, before it evaporated into the ether. If I don't finish a song in like 20 minutes, I let it go. You can't force it. In the words of Donavan, it's like trying to catch the wind. It's not my best, but it felt good to feel the rush of a song forcing it's way out again. I missed that. It's on the Loosies page called Parked In Stillorgan. I uploaded another unreleased tune to the Loosies page called "Demons". Good stuff. I also added a couple vids to the Solo Projects page, just scroll to the bottom. I recently said good bye to New York City. I'm gonna miss that town. I had a lot of fun and met some amazing people there. If you ever get the chance to live there, do it. You'll never regret it. It's everything people say it is and more. But, life goes on, and it's a great big world, so, onward and upward. I landed in the wonderful city of Dublin, Ireland. I've been wanting to live abroad for a long time, and all of the stars lined up just right for this move, so I took the leap. I don't know that I'll be adding much more old content to this site since all of my stuff is now in some storage unit somewhere back in the states. But, I hope to meet up with some musicians here and have some brand new stuff to post as the days go on. There's a lot of music here, and great people as well. To my friends around the US, you can always contact me here. SKATE AND DESTROY Just posted some amazing stuff my folks transferred from Super8 film. This is old school skating at it's best. Dig it!
The long awaited Negative Element re-issue 12" is out! This really is a beautiful package from Alona's Dream records. This picture is of the limited edition run. I mean, c'mon. Banana yellow vinyl, a hand silk screened book cover (numbered, none the less!), with great cover graphics, and it comes with a patch, a button, stickers, a promo poster, and some vintage flyers as postcards. Also a great insert with tons of great pics and liner notes from the whole band. I think these may be sold out already, but the regular album on black vinyl is out and available all over. You just don't get all the goodies. It's also available on CD. Either way, I hadn't heard this restored recording in at least 30 years. This is from the same recording session that produced our track on the Meathouse comp. Listening to the test pressing was an amazing trip down memory lane. If you're a fan, this is a nice addition to the collection. Why people are still interested in this band is indeed a mystery to me. But I have to admit... it makes an old man smile. |
