The Lechers is my current band here in Dublin.
When I first moved here, I met up with some Polish musicians that took me in and let me jam with them, and it was really great fun. But I missed having a band. So, I took a chance and posted on a random search board online and got a reply from this guy, JP, that would later prove to be the catalyst for this new band. (JP also plays drums with the legendary Belfast band THE OUTCASTS). After some back and forth we got together and it clicked straight away. I played him some of my songs, and he liked the name The Lechers, so we kept that as a band name. JP then brought on his pal Caff to play bass. We started playing a lot of shows, but as we started touring around Ireland and booking tours on mainland Europe, the schedule got a bit too much for Caff, so he decided to step down.
Finding a replacement for Caff was not easy, but in the end we asked a friend of JP named Martin to sit in on bass for a gig. It clicked so well instantly that we all knew he was destined to be part of the band. The addition of Martin on bass has really taken the whole band up a notch.
We've been playing a lot shows, and the response has been really great. I was really lucky to hook up with these guys. They're both killer players, and the chemistry just works.
JP also has a FaceBook page for us. So, you know, like us or whatever...
I have been off of all social media for a long time with no intention of going back, hence this website. JP runs the FB site, so please don't try to PM me there, I won't see it. If you want to contact me, you can always do so here.
Here's some live footy from Fibber's (8.3.19)
Here's our full set at Drop Dead Twice from 30.4.19 with Caff on bass.
