THE LECHERS
***DUBLIN***
The Lechers was my band while living in Dublin.
When I first moved there, I met up with some Polish musicians that took me in and let me jam with them, and it was really great fun. But I missed having a band. So, I took a chance and posted on a random search board online and got a reply from this guy, JP, that would later prove to be the catalyst for this new band. I played him some of my songs, and he liked the name The Lechers, so we kept that as a band name. JP then brought on his pal Caff to play bass. We started playing a lot of shows, but as we started touring around Ireland and booking tours on mainland Europe, the schedule got a bit too much for Caff, so he decided to step down.
Finding a replacement for Caff was not easy, but in the end we asked a friend of JP named Martin to sit in on bass for a gig. It clicked so well instantly that we all knew he was destined to be part of the band. The addition of Martin on bass has really taken the whole band up a notch.
We played a lot shows, and the response was really great. We ended up letting the drummer go for various reasons and were seeking a replacement.
Then Covid hit, the shutdown happened, and I later moved back to the US, so that was the end of this band.
But, it made my years in Dublin a lot of fun.
