Recording-Phase 1-Complete!

I was in New Orleans over thanksgiving weekend, beginning work on the new record. We had a lot of work to do in a limited amount of time, but finished with an hour to spare before I had to head to the airport to go home. Basic bed tracks are recorded (meaning a guitar, or piano, and main vocal tracks). What's fun with this new record, is that we are building each song track by track, and not limiting ourselves in any way. We'll be playing with some fun instrumentation and sounds, and overall, just letting the songs grow into what they want to be naturally. If the basic tracks are any indiction, this will be the best thing I've recorded to date.
My producer, J Yuenger, really pushed to get the best he could from me, and it showed when I listened back to all that we had recorded. It was tough, and at times, demanding, but, in the end, what we ended up with was really good. As we let these tracks settle, and decide what to do with each song, they will each grow into great little songs. I can't wait to see what happens next. Stay tuned, and I'll keep you posted. I promise, this new record will be worth the wait!
